I am passionate about personal development and empowerment. I can help if you have a concern about: depression, anxiety disorders, stress management, grief (after divorce, death, or immigration), personal development, goals, low motivation, eating disorders, low self-esteem, relationship issues, and so forth. My knowledge combined with my personal and leadership skills, helps people challenge to reach a renewed sense of purpose and achievement.
Education and Qualifications:
I over 25 years experience in mental health counselling, psychiatric rehabilitation, traumatic brain injury, and employment counselling, but my areas of specialization are anger and stress solutions, bullying, and MVA recovery. If you have experienced bullying as a student or an adult worker, are struggling with “negative” emotions like anger and stress/anxiety, or are trying to come to terms with physical, social, emotional, and cognitive changes after a motor vehicle accident, our practice is here to support you through your healing process.

Pull up a chair. Let’s chat. I’m Steph and it’s a pleasure to make your acquaintance.
Here are a few circumstances that might lead you to sit down with me:
• You’ve suffered a loss- the loss of a loved one, a friend or something really important to you.
• You’re anticipating a loss.
• You’ve experienced something traumatic- you’re struggling and exhausted.
• You don’t feel great. Some of the words you use to describe your emotional state lately are: anxious, down, depressed, low, angry, or burnt out.
• You’ve got a big change ahead of you.
• You love to read and would like to incorporate a great book (or poetry) to guide your healing and growth.
It’s my goal to help you find hope, and practical strategies to heal, adapt and ultimately thrive. I lean towards therapies with foundations in cognitive-behavioural theory. Some approaches I use include Cognitive Processing Therapy, Exposure Therapy, Prolonged Grief Disorder Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
A few words about my credentials and experience. I have my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP) and continue to pursue regular training opportunities so I can effectively support my clients. I am a Registered Psychotherapist licensed by the CRPO. Prior to counselling, I was a first responder and public safety professional. I know how this work changes us and it doesn’t have to be for the worst. I am grateful to have volunteered at a community-based hospice and received first-rate training on end-of-life and compassion-focused support.
